Welcome to Light House Church,

A bright spot in the dark, a beacon of hope, a place to call home.  We are honored to meet you and look forward to the opportunity to serve you!  In order to help you know who we are what follows is a snapshot of the story of Light House Church, (LHC).

LHC held its first public service in the McHenry Downtown Theatre on Memorial Day Weekend in 2005.  From the very beginning the journey of LHC has been a story of God’s miraculous power and grace in the midst of our humanity and weakness.

The church started as an act of obedience to God’s leading and with total dependence upon His ability to provide.  LHC began with about 15 people who were committed to serve yet were without money, equipment or a public place to meet.  Every step of the journey has been an opportunity to experience God and grow in faith.  God has proven Himself faithful time and again over the years.

In time God led us to the building we now call home.  Conveniently located off of Route 120 behind the Culver’s restaurant, the building was yet another chance for God to stretch our faith and prove Himself able to meet all of our needs.

LHC has grown from a small group of people worshiping around a kitchen table to a thriving body of believers and ministries that reach multiple age groups, and needs.  LHC began with a God-given vision of Shining the Love of Christ on the Chain O’ Lakes by living and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the many people that spend so much time on and around the Fox River.  Our core value is best stated by Matthew 5:14-16closeMatthew 5:14-16 14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. If you are interested in growing in your faith relationship with God at a church that welcomes you as you are, is committed to helping you become all God created you to be, holds a high view of God’s Word, a dependency upon God in prayer, and a strong commitment to serving one another while reaching out to others, then we invite you to join us as God continues to write the story of LHC.  God is the Hero of The Story!
